This was the coloional Spanish flag and it was flown over St. Augustine from 1565 to 1763


In 1763, Spain gave Florida to Great Britain in exchange for Havana. This flag flew over St. Augustine for twenty years.


In 1783, Spain recieved Florida back from Great Britain and this flag flew over St. Augustine until July 10, 1821 when Florida became a United States Territory
